Santa Margarita, Samar
Santa Margarita, officially the Municipality of Santa Margarita ( war, Bungto han Santa Margarita; tl, Bayan ng Santa Margarita), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Samar, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 26,816 people. Formerly known as Magsohong, it is bounded to the north by the city of Calbayog and to the south by Gandara. History The town used to be a barrio in Calbayog named Magsohong, but on June 29, 1878, the ''principalía'' of Magsohong, petitioned the Gobierno Superior to establish Magsohong as an independent pueblo. They argued that Magsohong was four hours away from Calbayog, it already had a '' casa real'' or a ''Juzgado de Paz'' of nipa, a church with a techada (roof) of nipa; a convent; an escuela also made of wood and nipa; and had more than 300 tributos. Mosta ( mt, Il-Mosta) is a small but densely populated city in the Northern Region of Malta. The most prominent building in Mosta is the Rotunda, a large basilica built by its parishioners' volunteer labour. It features the world's 3rd largest unsupported dome, and displays a replica of a German bombshell that famously crashed through the dome but did not detonate upon impact. Santa Margalida is a municipality with a population of 10,204 located in the northeast of the Spanish Balearic Island Majorca. The residents are divided over three settlement areas, the principal one being Santa Margalida, 10 km inland from the coast. The Santa Margarita Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually in early April at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California for fillies and mares age four and older, it is contested on dirt over a distance of one and one-eighths miles. A Grade I event for most of its history, in 2019 it was downgraded to Grade II. Inaugurated in 1935, the race was open to all horses age three and older until 1938 when it was restricted to fillies and mares. Magdalena Bay ( es, Bahía Magdalena) is a long bay in Comondú Municipality along the western coast of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur.
