Sanremo Music Festival 2000
The Sanremo Music Festival 2000 ( it, Festival di Sanremo 2000), officially the 50th Italian Song Festival (), was the 50th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, in the late February 2000 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Fabio Fazio, supported by Luciano Pavarotti, Teo Teocoli and Inés Sastre. Composers Pino Donaggio and Giorgio Moroder and lyricist Carla Vistarini served as the artistic directors. The winners of the Big Artists section were the group Piccola Orchestra Avion Travel with the song "Sentimento". Jenny B won the "Newcomers" section with the song "Semplice sai", and Samuele Bersani won the Mia Martini Critics Award with the song "Replay". Fabio Fazio (; born 30 November 1964) is an Italian television presenter. After debuting in 1982, he presented many TV programs, including ''Quelli che... il Calcio'', ''Vieni via con me'' and ''Quello che (non) ho''. Fichi D'India
were an Italian Double act, comedy duo made up of Bruno Arena (12 January 1957 – 28 September 2022) and Max Cavallari (born 8 July 1963), both actors and cabaret artists. They started their artistic career in 1989 on the beaches of Cape Palinuro, Palinuro, between the Opuntia ficus-indica, Indian figs, and this inspired their artistic name as a duo. In the same year they had their first show at the club Fuori Pasto, a cabaret club in Varese. Since then they have performed both on radio and television, on channels including Italia 1, Canale 5, Italia 7, Radio DeeJay, Radio Deejay, R101 (Italy), R101. They also did theatrical performances, tours and movies. They own the club Arlecchino, in Vedano Olona, where many cabaret artists from Milan and Varese became famous. Luigi "Gigi" D'Alessio (born 24 February 1967) is an Italian popular singer and Neapolitan singer-songwriter. In his career, he has sold over 26 million records. Career D'Alessio was born in Naples. Roberto Camisasca (born 9 August 1951), best known as Juri Camisasca, is an Italian singer-songwriter and composer. Life and career Born in Melegnano, a self-taught musician, Camisasca debuted in 1974 with the progressive rock album ''La finestra dentro'', produced by Pino Massara and Franco Battiato, which received large critical acclaim. Matia Bazar () is an Italian pop band formed in Genoa in 1975. The original members of the group were Piero Cassano (keyboards), Aldo Stellita (bass), Carlo Marrale (guitar, vocals), Giancarlo Golzi (drums) and Antonella Ruggiero (vocals). Max Gazzè (born 6 July 1967 in Rome, Italy) is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician. He is known for his high-pitched voice.
