Sangam Lal Gupta (born 1 April 1971) is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh. He was elected as BJP member to Lok Sabha in 2019 from Pratapgarh Lok Sabha seat. Before that, he was elected a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly representing the Pratapgarh Vidhan Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh in 2017 as a member of Apna Dal (Sonelal). He was promoted as National General Secretary of Bhartiya Janata Party OBC Morcha in March 2021. Apna Dal (Sonelal) is an Indian political party active in the Uttar Pradesh. The party finds its support base mainly in the Kurmi community in the region of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. History The Apna Dal (Sonelal) is a breakaway party of Apna Dal which was founded in 1995 by Dr. Sone Lal Patel, a politician belonging to the Kurmi caste. Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) is an Indian political party active in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Founded by Dr. Sonelal Patel Founding Apna Dal was founded on 4 November 1995 by Sone Lal Patel. Sonelal Patel had been a close associate of dalit leader Kanshi Ram, and along with Ram, he had been one of the founders of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). However, Kanshi Ram started giving great importance to his young female protégée, Mayawati, to the disappointment of many other party workers who had worked very hard to build the BSP. Pratapgarh, also called Belha or Bela Pratapgarh, is a city and municipality in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It is the administrative headquarters of Pratapgarh district, part of the Allahabad division.
