Alexander 'Sandy' Brown (born 7 October 1950) is a Scottish former first-class cricketer. Brown was born at Coatbridge in October 1950. He was educated in Coatbridge at St Patrick's School, before going up to Bell College of Technology in Hamilton. A wicket-keeper who played club cricket for both Drumpellier Cricket Club and Uddingston Cricket Club, Brown first played for Scotland in a first-class match against Ireland at Dublin in 1977. He played for Scotland until 1987, making nine first-class appearances, eight of which came against Ireland, and one against the touring New Zealanders. In List A one-day cricket he made 21 appearances across the Benson & Hedges Cup and the NatWest Trophy. Sandy Brown (footballer, Born 1877)
Alexander White Brown (21 December 1877 – 6 March 1944) was a Scottish footballer. Career Brown was a prolific scorer in Scottish youth football, and earned his nickname as the "Glenbuck Goalgetter" as a 16-year-old playing for Glenbuck Athletic. Turning professional with St Bernard's two years later, he was soon induced across the border to English football with Preston North End. After three years, his career continued with Portsmouth, then Tottenham Hotspur. During the 1900–01 season, Brown scored 15 goals during Tottenham's FA Cup run, including a goal in every round, which resulted in the club becoming the only non-League team to win the Cup. Brown scored both of Tottenham's goals in the first Final against Sheffield United, a 2–2 draw; in the replayed match he scored another as Spurs beat United 3–1 to win the Cup. Alexander Dewar Brown (24 March 1939 – 8 April 2014) was a Scottish footballer, best known as an Everton player where he played from 1963 until 1971. Career The Scottish utility man was signed from Partick Thistle for £38,000 in September 1963. Brown had represented the Scottish League earlier that month. The athletic hard man played in several positions. Harry Catterick saw his ability to read the game and played him in front of the back four when it was needed. Against West Ham he was deployed to intercept through balls toward Hurst and Peters. He was most effective as an overlapping full-back but also played as an emergency attacker and scored against Real Zaragoza in a European game during the 1966–67 season. Alexander Brown (25 February 1929 – 15 March 1975) was a Scottish jazz clarinetist, band leader, and acoustic engineer, who performed mostly Dixieland, New Orleans-style and mainstream jazz. He had a particular interest in African music, which was reflected in his compositions. Biography Brown was born of Scottish parents in Izatnagar, Uttar Pradesh, India, where his father was a railway engineer. In the early 1930s, the family relocated to Edinburgh, Scotland, where Brown was later educated at the Royal High School (Edinburgh), Royal High School. He taught himself clarinet from the age of twelve. After national service he studied architecture at Edinburgh College of Art. While there, in 1949, he also started a band with his old schoolfriend Al Fairweather. The two achieved national recognition following a concert at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh, in February 1952.

Sandy Brown (born 1946) is a British ceramics artist who is nationally and internationally known for her works, which range from smaller ceramics to huge public sculptures. Brown is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association. Biography Sandy Brown was born in Tichborne in 1946. Brown travelled to Iran in her youth and was greatly affected by the Jameh Mosque of Isfahan with its distinctive colourful mosaic tiles and polychromic dome. Brown trained in Japan at the Daisei Pottery in Mashiko for four years. In 1988 Brown was appointed by the British Council as an artist in residence in Australia. Her piece ''Temple'' was created for the 2015 Sotheby's exhibition of monumental sculpture, ''Beyond Limits'', at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.
