Sandgate Railway Station, Brisbane
Sandgate railway station is located on the Shorncliffe line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Sandgate. History The railway line from Brisbane to Sandgate opened in 1882. The terminal station was located near Curlew Street, behind the Osbourne Hotel, and was named Sandgate. The line was extended to Shorncliffe in 1897 and the new terminal station was named Sandgate while the original terminus was renamed Sandgate Central. In 1911 Sandgate Central station was relocated to its present position, closer to the Post Office. When the former Sandgate station was renamed Shorncliffe in 1938, Sandgate Central was renamed simply Sandgate. Sandgate is a northern coastal suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Sandgate had a population of 4,909 people. The town became a popular destination for the people of Brisbane in the early 20th century and remains popular due to its coastline, including Lovers Walk along the bay between Sandgate and neighbouring Shorncliffe as well as Moora Park and Beach. Geography Sandgate is situated on the coastline, along Bramble Bay part of Moreton Bay. The western border of the suburb is marked by the Gateway Motorway. Toombul Shopping Centre was a suburban shopping centre located in the locality of Toombul which is part of Nundah, a suburb of the City of Brisbane in the state of Queensland, Australia. The centre was anchored by Target and Kmart discount department stores, Coles supermarket, Aldi Food Store, an 8-screen Event Cinema and more than 140 specialty stores including Daiso. The centre opened on 11 October 1967 by The Westfield Group. Cleveland Railway Station
Cleveland railway station is located on the Cleveland line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the suburb of Cleveland in the Redland City. History In 1889, the Cleveland line was extended from Manly to the original Cleveland station. In 1897, the line was extended to the second Cleveland station. Cleveland station opened as the Raby Bay railway station in 1914. On 1 November 1960, the station closed when the line was truncated to Lota. When the station reopened on 24 October 1987, the former Raby Bay station became the third to carry the name Cleveland.
