Sanctuary (1995 Film)
''Sanctuary'' is a 1995 Australian film written by David Williamson and directed by Robin De Crespigny. It is adapted from Williamson's play and had a reported budget of $250,000. Plot A retired, wealthy, former journalist, Bob King, is interviewed by a student, John, who is doing a PhD thesis on King's career. The discussion erupts into violence. David Williamson
David Keith Williamson Officer of the Order of Australia, AO (born 24 February 1942) is an Australians, Australian dramatist and playwright. He has also written screenplays and teleplays. Early life David Williamson was born in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, on 24 February 1942, and was brought up in Bairnsdale. He initially studied mechanical engineering at the University of Melbourne from 1960, but left and graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1965. His early forays into the theatre were as an actor and writer of skits for the Engineers' Revue at Melbourne University's Union Theatre at lunchtime during the early 1960s, and as a satirical sketch writer for Monash University student reviews and the Emerald Hill Theatre Company. Steve Bisley
Steve Bisley (born 26 December 1951) is an Australian writer, film and television actor. He is best known for his roles in the films ''Mad Max'' and ''The Great Gatsby''. On TV, some of his better-known roles include Detective Sergeant Jack Christey on '' Water Rats'' and Jim Knight on '' Doctor Doctor''. Early life Bisley was born at Lake Munmorah, New South Wales and grew up on a small farm called Stillways. The son of schoolteachers, he moved to Sydney just after his seventeenth birthday. The AACTA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay is an award presented by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), for an Australian screenplay "based on material previously released or published".
