Samuel Wilson (East India Company Officer)
Major-General Samuel Wilson was a career Bombay Army officer, and was commander in chief in Bombay in 1826. He retired in 1826 and went back to England after 46 years of service. Bombay Army
The Bombay Army was the army of the Bombay Presidency, one of the three presidencies of Presidencies and provinces of British India, British India. It was established in 1662 and governed by the East India Company until the Government of India Act 1858 transferred all presidencies to the direct authority of the Monarchy of the United Kingdom, British Crown. On 1 April 1895 the army was incorporated into the newly created British Indian Army, Indian Army, and became known as the Bombay Command until 1908.
