Hassan Samih Chaito
Hassan Samih Chaitou ( ar, حسن سميح شعيتو, ; born 16 June 1991), also known as Shibriko (, ), is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a left-back for club Safa. Coming through their youth sector, Chaitou made his senior debut in the Lebanese Second Division with Khoyol in 2011. He moved to Safa in the Lebanese Premier League two years later, helping them win a Lebanese Super Cup in 2013. Chaitou joined Ansar in 2015, quickly establishing himself as a regular. He has won a league title, two Lebanese FA Cups and one Super Cup with the side. Chaitou initially represented Lebanon internationally at under-22 level, playing at the 2013 AFC U-22 Championship qualification in 2012. Samih Darwazah
Samih Darwazah ( ar, سميح دروزة, 1930 – 15 May 2015) was the founder of Hikma Pharmaceuticals, Jordan's largest pharmaceutical business, the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources from 1995 to 1996, and later a senator in the Jordanian parliament. Early life Samih Darwazah was born in Nablus, the son of a tea merchant father. At the age of 10, he became the youngest child to attend the Arab College of Jerusalem. He studied for a master's degree at the American University of Beirut, Darwazah received a master's degree from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Missouri which he attended on a Fulbright scholarship. In 2010 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the college. Career Darwazeh worked for Eli Lilly from 1964 to 1976, before establishing Hikma Pharmaceuticals in 1978. Samih Farsoun
Samih K. Farsoun, (1937 in Haifa, Palestine – June 9, 2005) was a professor emeritus of sociology at American University, where he taught for thirty years until his retirement in 2003. He graduated from Hamilton College in New York. He received a master's degree in 1961 and a PhD in 1971, both in sociology from the University of Connecticut. He died June 9 of a heart attack while on a walk with his wife in New Buffalo, Michigan. He was a resident of Florida and Washington, D.C. During his career at AU, Farsoun served as chairman of the Department of Sociology for eleven years, chairman and member of numerous university-wide committees. He also established (with John Willoughby) the Arab Studies minor in the Sociology department in 2001. Samih Al Gabbas (Arabic: سامح الجباس) is an Egyptian physician and writer, born in 1974. He has many publications, including the novel "An Old Rope and a Tied Knot", which won the Katara Prize for Arabic Novel in the category of unpublished novels and in the Drama category in 2015. He has also translated several books from English into Arabic including John Steinbeck’s novella " Of Mice and Men". Naima Samih ( ar, نعيمة سميح, born 1953 in Derb Sultan, Casablanca, Morocco) is a Moroccan artist. Born in a Saharawi family of thirteen children in Casablanca, Naima Samih started singing at the age of nine. She stopped school at an early age and worked with a seamstress to help her family, but gave up to take a chance for music. In the early seventies she got a breakthrough, taking part in the musical show "Mawahib" (a show that revealed Moroccan talents such as Samira Said, and Rajae Belmlih). She became a star in the 1970s with the release of her song "Jrit Ou Jarit" also known as "Yaka Jarhi". It became a hit throughout the Arab world, from North Africa all the way to the Persian Gulf region. Samīħ al-Qāsim al Kaissy ( ar, سميح القاسم; he, סמיח אל קאסם; 1939 – August 19, 2014) was a Palestinian people, Palestinian Druze poet Arab citizens of Israel, with Israeli citizenship whose work is well known throughout the Arab world. He was born in Emirate of Transjordan, Transjordan and later lived in Mandatory Palestine and Israel. Before the Six-Day War in 1967 he was mainly influenced by Arab nationalism; after the war he joined the Maki (political party), Israeli Communist Party. Early life Al-Qasim was born in 1939 in the Emirate of Transjordan (now Jordan), in the northern city of Zarqa, while his father served in the Arab Legion of Abdullah I of Jordan, King Abdullah.
