Adhemar Gonzaga (26 January 1901 – 29 January 1978) was a Brazilian actor, screenwriter, film producer, and director. Biography Born into a wealthy family Gonzaga had a passion for cinema from an early age, and first appeared on screen in a short advertising film in 1920. He worked as a journalist for the film magazine ''Cinearte'' (1926–1942) which advocated the creation of a more professional, commercial film industry in Brazil.Shaw & Dennison p.43–44 In 1928 he directed his first film, a silent.
