Sam Lee (actor)
Sam Lee Chan-sam (born 27 September 1975) is a Hong Kong actor. He started his film career when he was first spotted by director Fruit Chan who cast him in '' Made in Hong Kong''. Since his debut, Lee has been working hard on many films. In 1999, he made thirteen films in that year alone. He appeared in a Japanese film ''Ping Pong'' as one of the contestants in the movie. Lee is best known for his role as Sha Jang in the Hong Kong television series '' The Monkey King: Quest for the Sutra'' (2002). Outside of his film career, Lee is a seasonal member of a Hong Kong hip hop band Lazy Mutha Fucka (LMF) where he is the rapper. Sam Lee is also known as DJ Becareful. Sam Lee (tennis)
Sam Lee (June 18, 1914 in Oregon – April 9, 2012), was a former NCAA champion tennis player. As a youth tennis player, Lee reached as high as 7 in the U.S. tennis rankings for players 15 and under. He attended Stanford University, and as a sophomore, won the 1933 NCAA Doubles Championship with partner Joe Coughlin. Lee won the Oregon state doubles championships with Elwood Cooke in 1936, and the Oregon state singles championship in 1937. In 1942, Lee was called to service in World War II. In 1945, with Wimbledon suspended due to the war, Lee played in the "Military Wimbledon" tournament. In 1947 and 1948, Lee and partner Emery Neale played in the Wimbledon doubles tournament. Lee was instrumental in promoting the construction of the Portland Tennis Center in the 1970s, and has served as president of the Multnomah Athletic Club. Sam Lee (born 6 July 1980) is a British folk singer and traditional music specialist. His debut album, ''Ground of its Own'' was shortlisted for the 2012 Mercury Music Award. Lee performs as part of an ensemble, Sam Lee and Friends. Lee became known as a traditional music specialist dedicated to collecting, restoring and sharing ancient music from Britain and Ireland; in particular from the Romany Gypsy and Irish traveller communities. Lee has spent much time collecting songs from these communities. Lee’s debut album has been described as "the result of six years of complete immersion in traditional British folk music." His music involves re-working and instrumental arrangements of songs from the tradition. 2021 Hartlepool By-election
A by-election for the House of Commons constituency of Hartlepool in the former county of Cleveland, England, was held on 6 May 2021. The by-election was triggered following the resignation of Labour Member of Parliament (MP) Mike Hill, who resigned over allegations of sexual harassment. It was held on 6 May 2021 alongside elections to the Borough Council, Tees Valley Mayor, and Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner. The seat is part of the " red wall", a set of constituencies that historically supported the Labour Party but where the party is being challenged by increasing Conservative support. This was the first by-election to the parliament elected in 2019. The 21-month gap between the last by-election in Brecon and Radnorshire in August 2019 and the polling day of the by-election in Hartlepool was the longest since World War II.
