Lynn Shores (1893–1949) was an American film director. Shores was born on September 22, 1893, in Binghamton, New York, and is best known for directing Sally's Shoulders (1928), A Million to One (1936) and Here's Flash Casey (1938). Film Booking Offices of America (FBO), registered as FBO Pictures Corp., was an American film studio of the Silent film, silent era, a midsize producer and distributor of mostly low-budget films. The business began in 1918 as Robertson-Cole, an Anglo-American import-export company. Robertson-Cole began distributing films in the United States that December and opened a Los Angeles production facility in 1920. Late that year, R-C entered into a working relationship with East Coast financier Joseph P. Kennedy. A business reorganization in 1922 led to the company's assumption of the new FBO name. Two years later, the studio contracted with Western (genre), Western leading man Fred Thomson, who within a couple years was one of Cinema of the United States#Rise of Hollywood, Hollywood's most popular stars. Beatrice Burton
Beatrice Burton (1894–1983), also known as Beatrice Burton Morgan, was a writer of popular fiction active in the early decades of the 20th century. Burton also had a short career as an actress and later became a newspaper editor with her husband, Victor Morgan. Career Beatrice wanted to be an actress and had even signed a contract with David Belasco in 1909, but little work came her way. One of her most significant roles came in 1922 when she played Mrs. Reed in '' The Cradle Buster.'' As a second resort, she began to write at the impressive rate of as many as four books a year. Burton's romance stories were first serialized in newspapers with great success before Grosset and Dunlap published them in low-cost hard-cover editions. As her books made their way to Hollywood, Burton's name became entwined with 1920s pop culture. Ann McKnight
Ann McKnight (sometimes credited as Anna McKnight) was an American film editor active primarily during Hollywood's silent era, and has been credited as the first women to take up the profession (ahead of Viola Lawrence). She cut more than two dozen films during the mid-1910s and early 1930s, and often worked with fellow editor George Marsh. Biography Anna started off her career working at Vitagraph in Brooklyn as an editor in 1913, making a mark early on in the medium's history. She was not credited on many of her earliest jobs. She later worked at Film Booking Offices of America; her last credit was on 1931's ''Smart Woman''. Little else is known about her life, but based on newspaper clippings, it seems likely that she is not the actress Ann McKnight murdered in 1930 by her husband, William Burkhardt.
