''Sajenko the Soviet'' (German: ''Die geheime Macht'') is a 1928 German silent drama film directed by Erich Waschneck and starring Michael Bohnen, Suzy Vernon and Walter Rilla.Bock & Bergfelder p.33 It was shot at the Babelsberg Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Jacek Rotmil. Erich Waschneck
Erich John Waschneck (29 April 1887, in Grimma, Kingdom of Saxony – 22 September 1970, in Berlin) was a German cameraman, director, screenwriter, and film producer. Early life Erich was the son of Karl Hermann Waschneck, a blacksmith, and his wife Therese Emilie, née Schneider. Waschneck went to finishing school at the Leipzig Art Academy and studied painting. Career He came in contact with the film industry in 1907 when he began to paint posters for films. He then worked as a still photographer and later as a camera assistant to cinematographer Fritz Arno Wagner . In 1921, he did his first work as a cameraman in the adaptation of the fairy tale ''The Little Muck'' by Wilhelm Hauff. From 1924 he worked as a director. Henry Stuart (actor)
Henry Stuart (1 February 1885 – 26 January 1948) was a Swiss film actor known for his work in Germany. Stuart was born in Cairo as son of a Swiss doctor, but educated in Britain. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, intending to become a painter. After moving into the German film industry following the First World War, Stuart played a number of prominent supporting roles in productions such as '' Joyless Street'' (1925).Isenberg p.142 Stuart's film career largely ended with the arrival of sound, and he worked increasingly on the stage. His final film appearance was a small role in the Nazi agfacolor epic '' Münchhausen'' (1943). Rudolf Biebrach (24 November 1866 – 5 September 1938) was a German actor and film director. He directed over 70 films between 1909 and 1930; and he appeared as an actor in nearly 110 films between 1909 and 1938. In his youth, Biebrach had worked for some years as an Engraving, engraver. He got his first engagement as an actor in Gießen during 1890/1891. After a long career as a stage actor, Biebrach managed to become a successful director and character actor in the German film during the 1910s.
