Quebec Route 220
Route 220 is a provincial highway located in the Estrie region of Quebec. The highway runs from Sainte-Anne-de-la-Rochelle at the junction of Quebec Route 243, Route 243 and ends west of downtown Sherbrooke at Quebec Autoroute 410, Autoroute 410. The road connects the northern section of the Mont Orford Park. Lawrenceville, Quebec
Lawrenceville is a Village municipality in the Le Val-Saint-François Regional County Municipality in the Estrie region of Quebec, Canada. It is situated west of Sherbrooke, near the Black River. Around 650 Lawrence villagers are counted in an area of 17 square kilometers. History The name of the village honors Mr. Henry Lawrence, son of Isaac Lawrence who originally came from Canaan, Connecticut, and moved to Shefford Township in 1794 settling his family near Lake Waterloo between Fulford and Waterloo. In 1800 the township of Stukely was created, and Henry and his brother Erastus became Samuel Willard's associates and both moved to South Stukely in 1804. Erastus died 8 years later. In 1836 Henry Lawrence moved to the northern part of Stukely and built a sawmill and flourmill on an island which became part of Lawrenceville. Quebec Route 243
Route 243 is a north/south highway on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River. Its northern terminus is in Saint-Félix-de-Kingsey at the junction of Route 255 and its southern terminus is in the township of Potton where it crosses the Canada–US border at the North Troy–Highwater Border Crossing into Vermont and becomes Vermont Route 243. Route 243 is not a busy highway as it does not go through big towns. Stukely-Sud is a village of 950 people, part of the Memphrémagog Regional County Municipality in the Estrie region of Quebec, Canada. History Stukely-Sud was originally created on June 3, 1847, when the township municipality of Stukely was spitted in two different municipalities: South Stukely and North Stukely. North Stukely would eventually disband in three other municipalities ( Lawrenceville, Bonsecours and Sainte-Anne-de-la-Rochelle). On the other hand, South Stukely will continue on until 1935 when the urban part of the municipality will split off to form the new village municipality of Stukeley-Sud which still stand today. Meanwhile, the rural section would also change to the French name Stukely-Sud in 1969. In 1993, it will change to only Stukely and would eventually be merged into Eastman in 2001.
