St Mary's College,(known colloquially as Marys), is an Australian Catholic secondary school for girls, located in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. The school accepts girl students from year 7 to year 12, drawing from a wide area of Ipswich, Queensland. The total enrolment is approximately 650. The school is a member of the Catholic Secondary Schoolgirls' Sports Association. St Mary's School was established by Sisters of Mercy in 1863 as part of St Mary's Parish for the parish's primary-aged children. In 1913, St Mary's College was established as a separate secondary school exclusively for the higher education of girls in the Mercy tradition. St Mary's College, Rawalpindi, is an institute of higher learning established by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Islamabad-Rawalpindi in 2006 to meet the growing educational needs of the region. It was first called the Ave Maria College of Professional and Applied Sciences. History The origins of the College can be traced back to 1900 when the Dominican Sisters opened St Mary’s Training College on the present Falls Road campus with an enrollment of 100 women students. St Mary's Independent School, formerly named St Mary's College, was an independent school (UK), independent day school for boys and girls in Southampton, Hampshire, England. The school was located on the site of a former a country house called Bitterne Grove, built c1790 by Richard Leversuch. In 1910 it was bought by the French order of the ''Brothers of Christian Instruction'' and renamed as St Mary’s House. Initially it was a centre for students who were exiled from France due to anti-clerical laws passed there in 1903 and training for the Brotherhood, until the centre was relocated to Highlands College, Jersey, in the Channel Islands. St Mary's College was a voluntary aided Catholic college situated in Saltersgill, Middlesbrough, England. Tracing its roots back to 1904, it was the only Catholic further education provision in the region of Teesside for over 50 years. In 2011, St Mary's College, along with two other Catholic schools, closed. Its buildings, staff and educational provision were merged with the other schools to form Trinity Catholic College, Middlesbrough. In 2018, much of the building previously occupied by St Mary's Sixth Form underwent an extensive renovation, becoming Postgate House, the headquarters of the Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust, which manages 27 schools across the Diocese of Middlesbrough. It was formed following an amalgamation between the former St Mary's Convent High School for Girls and Marist College for boys.
