Sadat ( ar, سادات) is a suffix, which is given to families believed to be descendants of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad. In Iran, after the revolution, it is mandatory to mention "Seyed" or "Sadat" in the names of or whose descent from Muhammad has been mentioned in ID cards of their fathers or parental grandfathers. Sadat City
Sadat City ( ar, مدينة السادات ' ) is a city in the Monufia Governorate, Egypt. It is named after late president Anwar Sadat. The city is located northwest of Cairo. It is a first generation new urban community and one of the largest industrial cities in the country. The city is surrounded by a 350 km2 green belt, which has earned it a place in the top ten list of environmentally friendly industrial cities in the Middle East. Industry Sadat City has industry in a variety of sectors and in 2017, more land was slated and offered for industrial investment in Sadat. ''Sadat'' is a 1983 American two-part, four-hour made-for-television biographical film based on the life and death of the late 3rd President of Egypt, Anwar Sadat, starring Louis Gossett Jr. as Sadat and Madolyn Smith as Sadat's wife, Jehan. It was distributed by Columbia Pictures Television through Operation Prime Time. Gossett's performance earned him a nomination for an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Sadat Museum
The Sadat Museum is a cultural museum in Alexandria, Egypt, dedicated to the legacy of Egyptian president Anwar Al Sadat. It was inaugurated on February 17, 2009, by Suzanne Mubarak and Jehan Al Sadat and is located next to the planetarium of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, encompassing 200 square meters. The museum also launched an internet website that contains videos, images and documents about Sadat. The Museum holds the military uniform Sadat was wearing when he was assassinated, his desk, radio and some of the swords he received from Arab countries.
