Sa'idu Ahmed Alkali
Sa'idu Ahmed Alkali (born 12 February 1969) is a Nigerian politician who was elected Senator for the Gombe North constituency of Gombe State, Nigeria in August 2010 after the death of the incumbent senator Kawu Peto Dukku. He was reelected in the April 2011 national elections, running on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform. Sa'idu Ahmed Alkali was born on 12 February 1969. He holds the honorary title of Sarkin Gabas Dukku. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, and became a public servant. Alhaji Sa'idu Ahmed Alkali was formerly commissioner of information in the administration of Governor Danjuma Goje. After the death of Kawu Peto Dukku in April 2010, he emerged as the consensus candidate for the PDP primarily because he originated from the Dukku Local Government Area. Gombe State
Gombe State ( ff, Leyddi Gommbe 𞤤𞤫𞤴𞤣𞤠𞤺𞤮𞤥𞥆𞤦𞤫) is a state in northeastern Nigeria, bordered to the north and northeast by the state of Borno and Yobe, to the south by Taraba State, to the southeast by Adamawa State, and to the west by Bauchi State. Kawu Peto Dukku (14 January 1958 – 2 April 2010) was elected Senator for the Gombe North constituency of Gombe State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 2007. He was a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Early life and education Dukku was born on 14 January 1958 and gained a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration. Dukku is a Local Government Area in Gombe State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in Dukku town. The Gongola River flows through the west and north of the LGA. It has an area of 3,815 km and a population of 207,190 from the 2006 census. The vast majority of the population are Muslims, but there is a Christian minority.
