''S is for Stanley – 30 Years Behind the Wheel for Stanley Kubrick'' ( it, S Is for Stanley – Trent'anni dietro al volante per Stanley Kubrick) is a 2015 Italian documentary film co-written and directed by Alex Infascelli. It depicts the relationship between celebrated director Stanley Kubrick and his personal chauffeur and assistant, Emilio D'Alessandro. It was produced by Kinethica and Lock And Valentine. It is based on D'Alessandro's autobiography ''Stanley Kubrick and Me''. The film won the 2016 David di Donatello Award for Best Documentary. It was also nominated at the 2016 European Film Awards for best documentary film. The film also won the Master of Art film Festival in the Best Documentary in Theatre and Cinema section. Alex Infascelli
Alex Infascelli (born 9 November 1967) is an Italian director, screenwriter and producer. Life and career Born in Rome, the son of the producer Roberto and the nephew of the producer Carlo, Infascelli started his career as an assistant director for commercials and music videos. After directing he himself a number of music videos, in 1994 he directed a segment of the anthology film ''DeGenerazione''. In 2000 he made his feature film debut with the thriller ''Almost Blue'', which was well received both by critics and audience. For this film he won the David di Donatello for Best New Director as well as the Ciak d'oro and the Nastro d'Argento in the same category. Stanley Kubrick (1928–1999) was an American film director, producer, screenwriter and photographer. Marriages and family Kubrick married his high-school sweetheart Toba Metz in May 1948, when he was nineteen years of age. They lived together in Greenwich Village and divorced three years later in 1951. He met his second wife, the Austrian-born dancer and theatrical designer Ruth Sobotka, in 1952. They lived together in New York's East Village from 1952 until their marriage in January 1955. They moved to Hollywood six months afterwards, where she played a brief part as a ballet dancer in Kubrick's film, '' Killer's Kiss'' (1955). John Cummings (musician)
John Cummings is a Scottish musician and record producer, best known for being a former member of Glaswegian band Mogwai, mostly playing guitar, as well as programming, keyboards and vocals. Career Mogwai After forming and playing a few gigs in 1995 as a three-piece, Mogwai enlisted John Cummings on guitar. Though he mostly contributed guitar to the band, Cummings has also sung on the song "Boring Machines Disturbs Sleep", from 2003's ''Happy Songs for Happy People''. He left Mogwai in November 2015 to pursue a solo career. The Reindeer Section Cummings was briefly a member of indie rock supergroup, The Reindeer Section, contributing guitar to the first album. The European Film Awards (or European Film Academy Awards) have been presented annually since 1988 by the European Film Academy to recognize excellence in European cinematic achievements. The awards are given in 19 categories, of which the most important is the ''Best Film''. They are restricted to European cinema and European producers, directors, and actors.
