François Dosse
François Dosse (; born 22 September 1950) is a French historian and philosopher who specializes in intellectual history. Biography After devoting his doctoral thesis (1983) to the Annales School, Dosse turned his research interests to structuralism, the philosopher Paul Ricœur (his biography, ''Paul Ricœur. Les sens d'une vie'' (published in 1997), has become the standard authority) and the historian Michel de Certeau. François Dosse is one of the founders of the journal '' EspacesTemps''. In 2007, he published '' Gilles Deleuze et Félix Guattari, biographie croisée'' (English trans. ''Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari: Intersecting Lives'' 010, where he advocated the rehabilitation of Guattari in an intellectual history that had made place only for Deleuze. In 2011 he published a biography on the French historian Pierre Nora and in 2014 on the Greek-French philosopher Cornelius Castoriadis. Dosse (river)
The Dosse is a river in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin in the northwestern part of Brandenburg, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Havel in Saxony-Anhalt. The Dosse is long, with its source on the border between Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg, arising out of three small brooks that unite after four kilometres. It flows generally south, through Wittstock, Wusterhausen and Neustadt an der Dosse, before joining the Havel near Havelberg in Saxony-Anhalt. The total catchment area is . With the town of Wittstock on its banks, the Dosse was the site of the 1636 Battle of Wittstock between Sweden and an alliance between Imperial and Saxon troops during the Thirty Years' War. Marylène Dosse
Marylène Dosse is a French-born American classical pianist. Biography Marylene Dosse was born in Domfront in Normandy, France - the only place in which her mother could find a hospital which had not been taken over by the invading German armed forces. She entered the Paris Conservatoire where she studied initially under Jean Batalla and took supplementary lessons in piano and chamber music with Jacques Février. Later she studied with Jeanne-Marie Darré, who took over Batalla's advanced piano class. In 1960 she won first prize at the Conservatoire. After winning prizes in competitions in Salzburg and Naples, she began on an extensive concert career. She also participated in master classes given by Alfred Brendel, Jörg Demus and Paul Badura-Skoda. When Badura-Skoda was offered a position as artist-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin, he invited her to come as his assistant.
