SVT's Christmas Calendar
''Swedish Television's Christmas calendar'' ( sv, Sveriges Televisions julkalender) or ''Swedish Television's Advent calendar'' ( sv, Sveriges Televisions adventskalender) is a Nordic Christmas calendar, Christmas calendar Children's television programmes, TV series mainly for children, broadcast by Sveriges Television (Sweden's Television) since 1960 and has developed into an essential part of contemporary Swedish Christmas tradition. Every series consists of 24 episodes (with a few exceptions), broadcast daily 1–24 December. The theme for most series have some connection to Christmas. Prior to 1971, it was called ''Adventskalendern''. Sveriges Radio also has a tradition of broadcasting a Sveriges Radio's Christmas Calendar, similar series on the radio each year and prior to 1973, it was always the same series on the radio and on TV (with a few differences in adaptation, depending on the medium), but since then, it has been a different series on the radio and on TV. Children's television series (or children's television shows) are television programs designed for children, normally scheduled for broadcast during the morning and afternoon when children are awake. They can sometimes run during the early evening, allowing younger children to watch them after school. The purpose of these shows is mainly to entertain or educate. The children's series are in four categories: those aimed at infants and toddlers, those aimed at those aged 6 to 11 years old, those for adolescents and those aimed at all children. Ulla Birgitta Helena Andersson (born ''Andersson''; 20 April 1933) is a Swedish actress and comedian. Career Andersson made her breakthrough by acting in various variety shows with Povel Ramel and Karl Gerhard. She was part of the group around Hasse & Tage, acting in revues such as '' Gula Hund'', ''Docking the Boat'' (Att Angöra en Brygga), ''Spader, Madame!'', ''The Apple War'' (Äppelkriget), '' Ägget är löst'', ''The Adventures of Picasso'' (Picassos Äventyr) and '' Häxan Surtant''. ''Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter'' (''Five ants are more than four elephants'') is a 1973–75 Swedish TV-series for children, hosted by Magnus Härenstam, Brasse Brännström and Eva Remaeus. The TV-series included songs and sketches with education about letters, numbers, positions (right, left, under, above, etc.), etc. Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter was broadcast first on 19 November 1973 on TV2 by Sveriges Television and it was also broadcast as '' Sveriges Television's Christmas calendar'' . Beppe Wolgers
John Bertil "Beppe" Wolgers (10 November 1928 – 6 August 1986) was a Swedish author, poet, translator, lyricist, actor, entertainer and artist. Career Wolgers was born in Stockholm, Sweden and was the son of forest ranger John Wolgers and Gerda (née Korsgren). He attended Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, United States from 1947 to 1948 and Poppius journalistskola and Otte Skölds målarskola from 1946 to 1947. Wolgers was a journalist at '' Stockholms-Tidningen'' from 1960 to 1961. Wolgers had also exhibits together with Ernfrid Bogstedt. He wrote about a thousand songs and specialized in putting Swedish lyrics to foreign tunes like " Walkin' My Baby Back Home", " Waltz for Debby", "Dat Dere", "Eleanor Rigby", "Take Five" and "Bachianas brasileiras" no 5. Plot The Wikmansson family consists of Linda, the mother, Ludde, the father, as well as their daughter Agnes, the adoptive son Bertil and their adoptive-father. Linda, the mother, was pregnant and the major issue was if their child would be a boy or a girl. Tage Danielsson
Tage Danielsson (; 5 February 1928 – 13 October 1985) was a Swedish author, actor, comedian, poet and film director. He is best known for his collaboration with Hans Alfredson in the comedy duo Hasse & Tage. Career After graduation from Katedralskolan in Linköping, Danielsson matriculated at the University of Uppsala in 1949. There he got involved in student theatre of Östgöta Nation and became a member of the Juvenalorden, as well as serving as vice president of the Uppsala Student Union. After graduation, Tage Danielsson found work at ''Sveriges Radio'' in 1955. From 1959 to 1962 he was the manager for its entertainment department. At his work he came in contact with Hans Alfredson. They started the entertainment production company ''AB Svenska Ord'' (Swedish Words Ltd) together in 1961.
