SRF Zwei
SRF zwei (''Swiss Radio and Television Two'') is a Swiss German-language free-to-air television channel run under the public SRG SSR broadcasting group. History The channel was launched in 1997 as 'SF 2' as the German-speaking replacement for the formerly nationwide second public channel S Plus (which originally launched in 1993 and was subsequently renamed 'Schweiz 4' ( de) in 1995). It is the second of the three national German-language channels in Switzerland (the others being SRF 1 and SRF info). SF 2 was renamed to 'SF zwei' on 3 December 2005, in order to differentiate it more from its sister channel SF 1. An HD version launched on 29 February 2012. Programming SRF zwei mainly broadcasts programmes aimed towards a younger audience. There is a heavy emphasis on movies, TV series and sporting events, much like its Austrian equivalent ORF 1. Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF; "Swiss Radio and Television") is a Swiss broadcasting company created on 1 January 2011 through the merger of radio company Schweizer Radio DRS (SR DRS) and television company Schweizer Fernsehen (SF). The new business unit of SRG SSR became the largest electronic media house of German-speaking Switzerland. About 2,150 employees work for SRF in the four main studios in Basel, Bern, and Zürich. Eurovision Choir
Eurovision Choir (formerly Eurovision Choir of the Year) is choir, choral competition organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the and modeled after the latter's World Choir Games. Participation is open to member broadcasters of the EBU. The Eurovision Choir of the Year 2017, inaugural competition took place in 2017 in Riga, Latvia and was won by Slovenia. The Eurovision Choir 2019, second edition took place in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2019 and was won by Denmark. Planning for a third edition was canceled in June 2021 by Interkultur; a host broadcaster for the event had not been selected before the announcement, nor had any countries announced their intent to take part.
