SA's Got Talent (season 7)
In 2016 SA's Got Talent returned for another season. Tol Ass Mo was named new host. DJ Fresh and Shado Twala returned to the judging panel and a new judge, Jamie Bartlett, was added to the judging panel. Changes * A new host was introduced. Auditions Open Auditions Judges auditions Acts who were accepted in the open auditions, make it through to the judges audition, where it is televised with a live audience. For the judges auditions, there are 5 episodes where hundreds of acts are put through to have a chance to get to the next round – the semifinals, although only 21 acts will get through. Jamie Bartlett
James Bartlett (9 July 1966 – 23 May 2022) was a British-born South African actor best known for his role as the wicked puppet master, David Genaro, in '' Rhythm City'' and his theatre work. Career Television Bartlett was a well-known South African actor prior to starring in '' Rhythm City''. He started playing his role as David Genaro in 2007. He was the first person to speak in scene 1 on the TV series '' Isidingo'' as character Mike O'Riley when it was aired on South African television. On the set of ''Isidingo'', he acted opposite Hlomla Dandala who portrayed Derek Nyathi. In 1997, Bartlett acted in the action M-Net TV movie ''The Sexy Girls''. The gang-movie genre showcased the realities of the gangster life in Cape Town. Bartlett also guest starred in the Canadian-South African TV series ''Jozi-H'', a hospital drama set in Johannesburg. Shado Twala
Nomshado Twala (born September 10, 1958) professionally known by her stage name Shado Twala is a South African radio DJ, journalist, entrepreneur and radio and television producer best known as a judge on SA's Got Talent. Biography Twala was one of three children, in a family in Cape Town. Her first jobs were as a personal assistant to executives at the North West National Parks Board and Jazz Supermarkets. Then in 1989 she first came to public attention in 1989 when she was chosen as the best presenter in a national poll that won her a trip to New York on an exchange programme to learn more about presenting. She started her career in radio at Bop Radio in the 1980s. Later radio positions include 702 Talk Radio, Radio Metro, P4 Radio, 567 Cape Talk Radio and Heart 104.9FM (which was P4 radio rebranded). Thato Sikwane
Thato Sikwane (born 15 October 1972), better known by his stage name DJ Fresh, is a Motswana disk jockey, producer and entrepreneur based in South Africa. He is most well-known for his career on 5FM and Metro FM. Sikwane previously worked for YFM in Johannesburg, South Africa. During the 1990s, he released a series of South African house music records, mostly named Fresh House Flava. Different volumes of the compilations were released. SA's Got Talent
''SA's Got Talent ''(also known as ''South Africa's Got Talent'' or shorten to ''SAGT'') was a South African television show that aired on e.tv and part of the ''Got Talent'' series. It was presented by Mo Mahlangu, popularly known as Tol Ass Mo. Singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts, and other performers competed against each other for audience support. The winner of each series received R500,000 ( R250,000 in Seasons 1 to 5). The first series of the talent show began on 1 October 2009 and was broadcast weekly with a live semi-finals and final on 12 November 2009. Format The auditions take place in front of the judges and a live audience at a different city across South Africa. Lalla Hirayama (born February 10, 1988) is a Japanese—South African television host, actress, dancer and model. Best known for her current work as one of 5 hosts of the live celebrity news show ''V Entertainment'' on DStv channel Vuzu as their longest serving host, a judge on '' South Africa's Got Talent'' and host of her show ''Lalla Land'' on M-net Movies channel. Early life Lalla Hirayama was born in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. She is the only child born to a Japanese mother and a white South African father of Jewish descent. Baxter Theatre
The Baxter Theatre Centre is a performing arts complex in Rondebosch, a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. The Baxter, as it is often known, is part of the University of Cape Town; it is also the second largest performing arts complex in Cape Town, after the Artscape Theatre Centre. Matthew Mole (born 28 October 1991) is a South African singer-songwriter from Cape Town, South Africa. He is the winner of the South African Music Awards record of the year 2021. Early life and education Matthew Mole is from Fish Hoek in Cape Town. Mole's father taught him how to play the guitar. He later learned how to play ukulele, banjo, piano, organ, and drums. Moonchild (band)
Moonchild is an American alternative R&B band based in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of Amber Navran, Max Bryk, and Andris Mattson. All three are alumni of USC Thornton School of Music's Jazz Studies program. The band formed in the summer of 2011 after touring the west coast with Navran's previous solo project. The trio bonded in the car over similar music tastes and spent the summer and subsequent fall writing the music for what became their debut album ''Be Free'', which would be released the following year.
