S74 (Long Island Bus)
Suffolk County Transit operates a number of bus routes in Suffolk County, New York, United States; a few in the town of Huntington are operated by Huntington Area Rapid Transit. The Villages of Patchogue and Port Jefferson, also have had their own local jitney bus routes, although budget cuts have forced Port Jefferson to take its buses out of service. Some of them are descendants of streetcar lines (see List of streetcar lines on Long Island). Sunday service is operated on S1, S33, S40, S41, S45, S54, S58, S61, S66, S92, 3D and 10C routes. There is no service on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4); Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Days. Exceptions: S92 and 10C WILL run on Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4) and Labor Day. Some routes are operated with Saturday schedules on Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day and Veterans Day. South Huntington, New York
South Huntington is an affluent hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) within the Town of Huntington in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 9,422 at the 2010 census. Residents have a Huntington Station postal address. South Huntington is the birthplace of Walt Whitman, and the Walt Whitman Shops Mall is nearby. It is also home to St. Anthony's High School, Walt Whitman High School and the South Huntington Public Library. The Walt Whitman Shops were previously known as the Walt Whitman Shopping Center. Copiague is a station on the Babylon Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, located in Copiague, New York. The station is located on Marconi Boulevard and Great Neck Road ( Suffolk County Road 47), one block north of Oak Street ( Suffolk County Road 12). History Original station The South Side Railroad of Long Island and Central Railroad of Long Island once had another station in Copiague to the east called Belmont Junction, which was in service between 1873 and 1885. It is not known if the Long Island Rail Road built Copiague Station as a replacement for Belmont Junction, but it had served as one. The Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) is the local bus system serving Nassau County, New York. It also serves parts of western Suffolk County, New York as well as eastern portions of the New York City borough of Queens. Babylon is a station on the Long Island Rail Road in the village of Babylon, New York at Railroad Avenue west of Deer Park Avenue ( Suffolk CR 34). It is on the Montauk Branch, and is the eastern terminus of the Babylon Branch service.
