S. T. Gordon
S.T. Gordon (born April 18, 1959) is an American former professional boxer held the WBC and Lineal cruiserweight titles from 1982 to 1983. Professional boxing career Gordon became a professional boxer in 1977. He faced undefeated heavyweight prospect Gerry Cooney in 1978 but lost via a fourth-round disqualification. In 1981 he beat aging contender Yaqui Lopez for the North American Boxing Federation cruiserweight title. The next year he won the Lineal and WBC cruiserweight titles with a technical knockout victory over Carlos De León. The champion refused to defend the belt against the number one contender David Pearce in his first defence in the USA, and could not defend his belt in Great Britain because of the BBBoC reluctance to recognise the Cruiserweight division in the UK. Jesse Burnett
Jesse Burnett (born February 8, 1946) is an American former professional boxer. His professional record was 23-18-2 with 11 knockouts. He is best remembered as the spoiler who won a twelve-round decision in a WBC cruiserweight elimination bout over former world light-heavyweight champion Victor Galindez of Argentina in 1980, sending Galindez into retirement. In Burnett's two tries at a world title, he was stopped in the ninth round of a 1977 vacant WBC light-heavyweight title bout by Miguel Angel Cuello, and stopped in the eighth round of a 1983 WBC cruiserweight title bout against S.T. Gordon. Álvaro López (born May 21, 1951, in Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico) is a Mexican former boxer and current member of the Boxing Hall of Fame. A native of Zacatecas, Zacatecas, López was very popular among Mexicans and is considered by many as one of the greatest Light Heavyweights to never become world champion. Early life The story of López starts with his birth under a bull ring in the Plaza de Toros San Pedro in Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico. Trevor Berbick
Trevor Berbick (1 August 1954 – 28 October 2006) was a Jamaican professional boxer who competed from 1976 to 2000. He won the WBC heavyweight title in 1986 by defeating Pinklon Thomas, then lost it in his first defense in the same year to Mike Tyson. Berbick was the last boxer to fight Muhammad Ali, defeating him in 1981 by unanimous decision. As an amateur, Berbick won a bronze medal in the heavyweight division at the 1975 Pan American Games. In both his early and late professional career he held the Canadian heavyweight title twice, from 1979 to 1986 and 1999 to 2001. Berbick is the only boxer to have fought Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, and Mike Tyson.
