S. Sriram was an Indian film producer from Tamil Nadu. Biography Sriram and Mani Ratnam established Aalayam Productions. He produced films like '' Thiruda Thiruda'', ''Bombay'' and '' Aasai''. ''Samurai'' was the last film which was produced by him. Sriram died of cardiac arrest on 4 September 2019. Nalini Sriram
Nalini Sriram is an Indian fashion costume designer and entrepreneur. She is considered one of the early pioneers of fashion designing for South Indian films. Career Nalini graduated with a degree in English literature and worked as a freelance writer during her early career. After marrying film producer S. Sriram, she opted to pursue a career in fashion designing and made her debut with Mani Ratnam's ''Roja (film), Roja'' (1992). She continued to work for Mani Ratnam's productions, and the success of her work in ''Bombay (film), Bombay'' (1995) attracted offers from other studios. In 2000, a particular Langa voni, paavadai dhavani she had made for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai in ''Kandukondain Kandukondain'' (2000) triggered demand for similar products in Chennai. Mani Ratnam
Gopala Ratnam Subramaniam (born 2 June 1956), known professionally as Mani Ratnam, is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema and few Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films. Ratnam has won six National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards, six Filmfare Awards South, and numerous awards at various film festivals across the world. In 2002, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, acknowledging his contributions to film. Aalayam Productions was an Indian film production and distribution company headed by S. Sriram. The firm had been a leading production studio in the Tamil film industry in the 1990s, with director Mani Ratnam also being a partner. History S. Sriram and Mani Ratnam set up Aalayam Productions in 1990 and produced K. Subash's ''Chatriyan'' (1990) as their first venture. Featuring Vijayakanth and Bhanupriya in the lead roles, the film won critical acclaim and performed well at the box office.
