S. R. Nagar
Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar or SR Nagar is predominantly a residential area in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is close to Ameerpet, a commercial suburb. It is named after the sixth President of India, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy. The area is being a residential area has a good number of trees and good environment. SR Nagar almost joins with Sanathnagar, though it maintains a distinct culture. SR Nagar is a road junction connecting to the Bombay-Pune highway. Located here is the statue of Chadalavada Umesh Chandra, a police officer who lost his life here, gunned down in the street by Naxalites. SR Nagar being predominantly a residential area has well planned roads and a good number of independent houses. Recently the real estate boom has caught up here with a growing number of apartments. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy (; 19 May 1913 – 1 June 1996) was an Indian politician who served as the sixth President of India, serving from 1977 to 1982. Beginning a long political career with the Indian National Congress Party in the independence movement, he went on to hold several key offices in independent India — as Deputy Chief minister of Andhra state and the first Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh, a two-time Speaker of the Lok Sabha and a Union Minister— before becoming the Indian president.
