S. K. Shrivastava
Lieutenant General Sanjeev Kumar Shrivastava, PVSM, AVSM is a former General Officer in the Indian Army. He last served as the Engineer-in-Chief of the Indian Army. He assumed office on 1 April 2018, taking over from Lt Gen Suresh Sharma. Career Shrivastava is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Pune and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He was commissioned into the Bengal Sappers of the Corps of Engineers in 1980. During his career, He has attended the Defence Services Staff College, Army War College, Mhow and the National Defence College, New Delhi. Shrivastava is a Post Graduate in Docks and Harbour from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and has M Phil degrees from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and Madras University. Army War College, Mhow
The Army War College, Dr.Ambedkar Nagar (A.W.C.) is a defence service training and research institution of the Indian Army located in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. It develops and evaluates concepts and doctrines for tactics and logistics for the army. The college trains about 1,200 officers of the Indian Army, as well as paramilitary forces each year. National Defence Academy (India) Alumni
The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the joint defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services i.e. the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force train together before they go on to respective service academy for further pre-commission training. The NDA is located in Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra. It is the first tri-service academy in the world. The alumni of NDA include 3 Param Vir Chakra recipients and 12 Ashoka Chakra recipients. NDA has also produced 27 service Chiefs of Staff till date. The current Chiefs of Staff of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force are all NDA alumni from the same course. Recipients Of The Ati Vishisht Seva Medal
Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) is a military award of India given to recognize "distinguished service of an exceptional order" to all ranks of the armed forces. The award is a peacetime equivalent of Uttam Yuddh Seva Medal, which is a Wartime Distinguished Service decoration. The award can also be granted posthumously. Subsequent awards are represented by a bar worn on the ribbon. The awardee can use "AVSM" as post-nominal letters. History The Ati Vishisht Seva Medal was originally instituted as the "Vishisht Seva Medal, Class II" on 26 January 1960.
