S.C. Espinho
Sporting Clube de Espinho, also known as Sporting de Espinho, is a Portuguese sports club from the city of Espinho in the Aveiro district. Besides football, the club has volleyball and handball departments that usually compete in the major Portuguese top leagues. Other sport departments are those in athletics, swimming and futsal. History Founded in 1914, it is one of the oldest clubs in Portugal. In 1925, SC Espinho's football team reached the semifinals of the Campeonato de Portugal, their highest round to date. The team also played 11 seasons in the Portuguese First Division between 1975 and 1997. They currently compete in AF Aveiro Campeonato Sabseg. The football team played their home games at Estádio Comendador Manuel Violas in Espinho, until 2018. Espinho () is a city and a municipality located in the Aveiro District, Portugal. It is located in both the Greater Porto and the Metropolitan Area of Porto, 16 km from its city centre. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Portugal and was, until 1899, part of the Santa Maria da Feira Municipality. In 2021, Espinho had a population of 31,027, a slight decrease from the previous census in 2011, when 31,786 were registered, in an area of 21.06 km². The current Mayor is Miguel Reis, elected by the PS. It is a beach resort and a zone of legal gambling with a casino - ''Casino Solverde''. Aldo Geraldo Manuel Monteiro (born 30 November 1994), known as Kadú, is an Angolan professional footballer who plays for Portuguese club Alverca as a goalkeeper. Club career Kadú was born in Porto Amboim. Ivan Manuel Amorim dos Santos (born 22 September 1988) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for SC Maria da Fonte as a midfielder. Club career Born in Espinho, Santos made his Primeira Liga debut in 2007–08 with Boavista FC, and scored in his last appearance of the season, a 2–1 away loss against Sporting CP. In July 2008, he signed a three-year contract with S.L. Benfica, but was immediately loaned to Boavista, with the northern club now in the Segunda Liga for irregularities. After appearing regularly for the Porto side, again relegated, Santos was loaned once more for the 2009–10 campaign, joining another team in the second division, newly-promoted A.D. Carregado.
