S.A.B. Intersection
S.A.B. Intersection ( th, แยกเอส. เอ. บี., ) is formed by the intersection of Charoen Krung Road, Charoen Krung and Worachak Road, Worachak with Chakkrawat roads in Bangkok's Pom Prap Sattru Phai and Samphanthawong Districts near Khlong Thom, Bangkok, Khlong Thom area, regarded as an end of Worachak road and beginning of Chakkrawat road. It was originally called Worachak Intersection after the road, but became known as S.A.B. after the Belgian import company Société Anonyme Belge which established its office and store on the northern corner in 1912. Building on the junction's eastern corner is the near-identical S.E.C. Building, also originally a leading department store. It is now the site of the Chaloem Nakhon Branch of Siam Commercial Bank. Pom Prap
Pom Prap ( th, ป้อมปราบ, ) is one of five ''khwaengs'' (subdistricts) of Pom Prap Sattru Phai district, Bangkok. In February 2019 it had a total population of 15,440 people (7,444 men, 7,956 women). The majority of the population consists of Thai people, Thais and Thai Chinese. History Its name after a fort was called "Pom Prap Sattru Phai", southward of Talat Nang Loeng, Nang Leong Ban Yuan (near Nopphawong Bridge in present day). It was one of the eight Fortifications of Bangkok#1852 forts, forts built along two banks of Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem according to the King Mongkut (Rama IV)'s orders. When Bangkok was expanding, the government therefore removed these forts.
