Rœux () is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France. Geography Rœux lies on the banks of the Scarpe river about east of Arras at the junction of the D33, D42 and D46 roads. The junction of the A1 and A26 autoroutes is 1/2 mile north of the commune. Rœux station has rail connections to Arras and Douai. Scarpe (river)
The Scarpe () is a river in the Hauts-de-France region of France. It is a left-bank tributary of the river Escaut (Scheldt). It is long. The source of the river is at Berles-Monchel near Aubigny-en-Artois. It flows through the towns of Arras, Douai and Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. The river ends at Mortagne-du-Nord where it flows into the Scheldt. Scarpe Mountain in Alberta, Canada, was named after the river. The navigable waterway and its coal barges also feature in the novels by 19th century author Émile Zola. A1 Autoroute
The A1 Autoroute, also known as l'autoroute du Nord (the Northern Motorway), is the busiest of France's autoroutes. With a length of , it connects Paris with the northern city of Lille. It is managed by the Société des Autoroutes du Nord et de l'Est de la France (SANEF). The autoroute serves the northern suburbs of Paris, including the Stade de France, Le Bourget, Paris' Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, and Parc Astérix. A26 Autoroute
The A26 is a long French motorway connecting Calais and Troyes. It is also known as the Autoroute des Anglais (''Motorway of the English'') as its length forms the first part of the main route from the Dover-Calais ferries and the Channel Tunnel towards Southern and Eastern France and the Cote d'Azur. The motorway is used by a high proportion of British cars, particularly during the summer holiday season.
