Manuel Pérez (born 19 November 1939) is a Cuban film director and screenwriter. He has directed seven films since 1961. His 1973 film ''The Man from Maisinicu'' was entered into the 8th Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Special Mention. His 1977 film '' Río Negro'' was entered into the 10th Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Special Prize. Mario Balmaseda
is a character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He is the title character of the ''Mario'' franchise and the mascot of Japanese video game company Nintendo. Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian plumber who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom, his adventures generally center on rescuing Princess Peach from the Koopa villain Bowser. Mario has access to a variety of power-ups that give him different abilities. Mario's fraternal twin brother is Luigi. Mario first appeared as the player character of ''Donkey Kong'' (1981), a platform game. Miyamoto wanted to use Popeye as the protagonist, but when he could not achieve the licensing rights, he created Mario instead. Sergio Corrieri
Sergio Corrieri (3 March 1939 – 29 February 2008) was a Cuban actor. He won the award for Best Actor at the 8th Moscow International Film Festival for his role in ''The Man from Maisinicu''. Corrieri was centrally involved with the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) from its foundation in 1959. He was also a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba from 1980, and was made head of culture within the Central Committee in 1987. Nelson Villagra
Nelson Villagra (born 9 August 1937) is a Chilean actor, writer and director of stage and screen. He is recognised as one of the most masterful actors in Chilean cinema and is widely known in Chile for his exceptional portrayal of a mentally retarded murderer in Miguel Littín's ''El Chacal de Nahueltoro'' (1969). He also collaborated with Raúl Ruiz on '' Tres tristes tigres'' (1968), '' La colonia penal'' (1970) and '' Nadie dijo nada'' (1971). In 1973, Villagra was exiled from Chile as a result of the military coup which led to the Pinochet dictatorship.
