The Río Espíritu Santo ( es, Río Espíritu Santo) is a river of Río Grande, Puerto Rico. Espíritu Santo River begins at the highest elevation of the El Yunque National Forest. Description Río Espíritu Santo is located in the Río Espíritu Santo Natural Reserve. It is operated by the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources. The river is scenic with pools, waterfalls, and rapids within extensive tropical forest. The Río Espíritu Santo Observation Point is located on Puerto Rico Highway 186, PR-186 km 18.9. The municipalities of Puerto Rico (Spanish: ''municipios de Puerto Rico'') are the second-level administrative divisions in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Río Grande () is a town and municipality of Puerto Rico located on the eastern edge of the Northern Coastal Valley, north of Las Piedras, Naguabo and Ceiba; east of Loíza and Canóvanas and west of Luquillo. Río Grande is spread over eight barrios and Río Grande Pueblo (the downtown area and the administrative center of the city). It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. El Yunque National Forest
El Yunque National Forest ( es, Bosque Nacional El Yunque), formerly known as the Caribbean National Forest (or ''Bosque Nacional del Caribe''), is a forest located in northeastern Puerto Rico. It is the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest System and the United States Forest Service. El Yunque National Forest is located on the slopes of the Sierra de Luquillo mountains, encompassing more than 28,000 acres (43.753 mi2 or 113.32 km2) of land, making it the largest block of public land in Puerto Rico. The highest mountain peaks in the forest rises above sea level. The second highest mountain within El Yunque forest is also named Pico El Yunque. The Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (PRDNER) is the executive department of the government of Puerto Rico tasked with protecting, conserving, developing, and managing the natural and environmental resources in Puerto Rico.
