Rémy Vercoutre
Rémy René Paul Vercoutre (born 26 June 1980) is a French former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He's currently the goalkeeping coach of Olympique Lyonnais. Career Vercoutre was born in Grande-Synthe, Nord. He previously played for Montpellier, before moving to Lyon in 2002. In 2004, he joined Strasbourg on loan, but only managed to play eight games for them before returning to Lyon. He did however play as they won the 2005 Coupe de la Ligue Final. Due to Grégory Coupet's injury for the 2007 portion of the 2007–08 Ligue 1 season, Vercoutre became Lyon's first choice keeper and played in every game until Coupet's return. During that time, he made a crucial penalty save from Thomas Hitzlsperger in the UEFA Champions League against Stuttgart, which helped Lyon progress to the round of 16. Stade Malherbe Caen
Stade Malherbe Caen (; commonly known as SM Caen, SMC, or simply Caen) is a French professional football team, based in the city of Caen in Normandy, that competes in the Ligue 2. The club was founded on 17 November 1913 by the merger of ''Club Malherbe Caennais'' and ''Club Sportif Caennais''. The team takes its name from François de Malherbe, a 17th century poet from Caen. For most of its history, SM Caen has been one of the main amateur clubs in France. The late 1980s and early 1990s saw the rise of Stade Malherbe in the French football hierarchy. In 1985, Stade Malherbe adopted professional status. Three seasons later, it was promoted for the first time to first division. The 2012–13 Ligue 1 was the 75th season since its establishment. Montpellier were the defending champions. The league schedule was announced in April 2012 and the fixtures were determined on 30 May. The season began on 10 August and ended on 26 May 2013. A winter break was in effect from 24 December to 12 January 2013. The season marked the 80th anniversary of professional football in France. Coupe De La Ligue
The Coupe de la Ligue (), known outside France as the French League Cup, was a Single-elimination tournament, knockout cup competition in Football in France, French football organized by the Ligue de Football Professionnel. The tournament was established in 1993 and, unlike the Coupe de France, was only open to professional clubs in France which play in country's French football league system, top three football divisions, though the Championnat National, third is not fully professional. The most successful team in the competition was Paris Saint-Germain F.C., Paris Saint-Germain with nine wins, including the last edition in 2019–20 Coupe de la Ligue, 2019–20. 2012 Trophée Des Champions
The 2012 Trophée des Champions ( en, 2012 Champions Trophy) was the 17th edition of the French super cup. The match was contested by Montpellier, the 2011–12 Ligue 1 champions and Lyon, the winners of the 2011–12 edition of the Coupe de France. The match was played at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. This was the fourth consecutive time the competition had taken place on international soil. The defending champions were Marseille who defeated Lille in the 2011 edition, which was played in Morocco. Lyon captured its eighth Trophée des Champions and its first since 2007 after defeating Montpellier 4–2 on penalties. The match ended 2–2 in regular time with John Utaka and Emanuel Herrera scoring goals for Montpellier and Bafétimbi Gomis and Jimmy Briand converting for Lyon. The Coupe de France, formerly known as the Coupe Charles Simon, is the premier knockout cup competition in French football organized by the French Football Federation (FFF). It was first held in 1917 and is open to all amateur and professional football clubs in France, including clubs based in the overseas departments and territories. Between 1917 and 1919, the competition was called the Coupe Charles Simon, in tribute of Charles Simon, a French sportsman and the founder of the French Interfederal Committee (the ancestor of the French Football Federation), who died in 1915 while serving in World War I.
