Rémigny, Quebec
Rémigny is a municipality in northwestern Quebec, Canada, in the Témiscamingue Regional County Municipality. History In 1920, the geographic township of Rémigny was formed, named after Captain Rémigny of the Régiment de la Sarre, who was made a Knight of the Order of Saint Louis in 1759 and captain of Grenadier Company in 1760. The community had its start in 1935 when sixty settlers from Joliette arrived on the northern shores of Barrière Bay of Des Quinze Lake as part of the Vautrin Vautrin is a character from the novels of French writer Honoré de Balzac in the ''La Comédie humaine'' series. Joliette
Joliette is a city in southwest Quebec, Canada. It is approximately northeast of Montreal, on the L'Assomption River and is the seat of the Regional County Municipality of Joliette. It is considered to be a part of the North Shore of Greater Montreal. The city is home to the Joliette Art Museum, whose works of art include paintings, sculptures, paper artwork and a large collection of art from the French Middle Ages. Joliette has 3 Francophone high schools and 1 Anglophone high school, as well as the Joliette campus of the Cégep régional de Lanaudière. Nédélec is a township municipality in western Quebec, Canada, in the Témiscamingue Regional County Municipality. Name The name of the municipality recalls the name of Jean-Marie Nédélec who was an oblate and a missionary with the Algonquins in the region. His last name is from the Breton word ''Nedeleg'' which means Christmas. History By 1895, a general store was supplying the many logging camps of the area. The first permanent settlers arrived in 1909, the same year the township and township municipality were formed. Rouyn-Noranda ( 2021 population 42,313) is a city on Osisko Lake in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, Canada.
