Rättvik Municipality
Rättvik Municipality (''Rättviks kommun'') is a municipality in Dalarna County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Rättvik. In 1963 the municipality was reunited with ''Boda'', which had been detached from it in 1875, and in 1974 ''Ore'' was added, thus forming the present municipality. Geography Rättvik municipality is situated in the middle of Sweden in the province of Dalarna, in between the three Swedish cities Borlänge, Falun and Mora. It is located in a traditional forest and agriculture environment, which is how most of Sweden looked in the 19th century and earlier. Nowadays, its culture also attracts a significant number of tourists. The area near Rättvik municipality has the highest population of brown bears in Sweden. Brown Bear
The brown bear (''Ursus arctos'') is a large bear species found across Eurasia and North America. In North America, the populations of brown bears are called grizzly bears, while the subspecies that inhabits the Kodiak Islands of Alaska is known as the Kodiak bear. The Left Party ( sv, Vänsterpartiet ; V) is a socialist political party in Sweden. On economic issues, the party opposes privatizations and advocates increased public expenditure. In foreign policy, the party is Eurosceptic, being opposed to the European Union, NATO, and Swedish entry into the eurozone. It attempted to get Sweden to join the Non-Aligned Movement in 1980, but did not succeed. The party is eco-socialist, and also supports anti-racism, feminism, and republicanism. Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Rättvik, commonly known as IFK Rättvik, is a sports club in Rättvik, Sweden. The club colours are white and blue, like for most Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, IFK clubs. Bandy
Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). The playing surface, called a bandy field or bandy rink, is a sheet of ice which measures 90–110 meters by 45–65 meters – about the size of a football pitch. The field is considerably larger than the ice rinks commonly used for ice hockey, rink bandy, or figure skating. The goal cage used in bandy is 3.5 m (11 ft) wide and 2.1 m (6 ft 11 in) high and is the largest one used by any organized winter team sport. Dalhalla Opera
Dalhalla is an open air theatre located in a former limestone quarry, and is used as a summer music venue. It is located north of Lake Siljan and the municipality of Rättvik in Dalarna, central Sweden. The quarry, previously known as ''Draggängarna'', is deep, long and wide. It was in operation until 1990. The open air theater was opened in 1995 and currently has 4,000 seats. The acoustical qualities are comparable to the best outdoor stages in Europe. Dalhalla presents 20-30 events each summer, from June to the beginning of September with a combination of opera, choral works, jazz and popular concerts making up the bulk of the program. In 2005, guest performers came from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, and Mikis Theodorakis celebrated his 80th birthday.
