Ryōta Nakano
Ryota Nakano is a Japanese film director, most famous for his film "Her Love Boils Bathwater" Background Nakano was born in 1973 and grew up in Kyoto. Nakano's father died when he was 6 and he was brought up by his mother. After leaving university, he was about 23 when he decided to be a filmmaker, and hadn't been a film fan before that time. He then went to he studied at the Japan Film School. As a student Nakano travelled to India to make a student film, which would later be an influence on ''Her lover boils bathwater''. His graduation project was ''As We Go Cheering Our Flaming Lives.'' Upon leaving film school, he started off as an assistant director but lost confidence, deciding he was no good at it after being fired from his position in the middle of a shoot. After that, he dropped out of the industry for a while. Her Love Boils Bathwater
is a 2016 Japanese drama film directed by Ryōta Nakano. It was selected as the Japanese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Plot Futaba (Rie Miyazawa) single-handedly raising her teenage daughter Azumi (Hana Sugisaki) is diagnosed with terminal cancer and learns she only has a few months to live. She decides to use her last few months to improve the life of her family. To do this, she tracks down her husband, Kazuhiro (Joe Odagiri), who had left her for another woman. The other woman had in turn abandoned him, leaving him to look after a 9-year old daughter Ayuko (Aoi Itō) whom she claimed was the result of a one-night stand years before. Together, Futaba, Kazuhiro and the two girls reopen the family bathhouse, which will provide them with a comfortable life. Plot A family deals with the 70 year old father, who informs his wife and daughters that he has Alzheimer's disease. They react differently to as his illness progresses, but realize there are some things he will not forget. The story looks at the drama of the family members' own individual challenges, as they come to deal with their own father's illness. The Asadas
''The Asadas'' ( ja, 浅田家!) is a 2020 Japanese biographical drama film written by Ryōta Nakano and Tomoe Kanno and directed by Nakano. The film was part of the official selection for the Warsaw Film Festival and the 26th Busan International Film Festival. Plot Masashi Asada is the gifted but irresponsible youngest son in a family, and a photographer. His work initially revolves around taking staged photos of his family, depicting an ideal world where they do their dream jobs. Asada publishes his book, which has mediocre sales, and turns to his childhood crush for support. As his book starts to take off, he starts getting requests from average families for him to take photos of them. When the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake happens, he volunteers to help cleaning and sorting out photographs from the family's victims.
