Ryszard Piotrowski
Ryszard Feliks Piotrowski ( en, Richard Felix Piotrowski) (February 6, 1924 - June 2, 2016), born in Warsaw, was a Major in the Polish Armed Forces and a member of the Polish resistance / Home Army (''Armia Krajowa'' or "AK"). He fought in the "Sowinski" Battalion, "Waligora" Grouping, under his wartime code name ''Piorun'' ( en, Lightning). Piotrowski took part in the Warsaw Uprising ( pl, powstanie warszawskie), the largest single military effort taken by any European resistance movement during World War II and the largest scale World War II operation by the Home Army ( pl, Armia Krajowa) to liberate Warsaw from Nazi Germany. The Uprising was timed to coincide with the Soviet Union's Red Army approaching the eastern suburbs of the city and the retreat of German forces. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegeneration, neurodegenerative disease that usually starts slowly and progressively worsens. It is the cause of 60–70% of cases of dementia. Orders, Decorations And Medals Of Poland
The following is a list of medals, awards and decorations in use in Poland. Most of them are awarded by the Polish Army, but some of them are civilian decorations that may be worn by the military personnel. Most of these decorations ceased to be awarded; some were awarded before the World War II only, and some in the People's Republic of Poland only; order of some of them was changed by law. The state awards may be awarded only by the President of Poland. The order of precedence was last reformed in 2007.
