Ryszard Bober
Ryszard Jakub Bober (born 1956 in Jabłonowo Pomorskie, Poland) is a Polish politician who is a current Chairperson of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Regional Assembly. Biography Education He graduated from the University of Agriculture and Technology in Olsztyn ( pl, Akademia Rolniczo-Techniczna w Olsztynie), now University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Political career In the 2001 parliamentary election he was a candidate for the Sejm of Poland. He polled 1,274 votes and was not elected from the Polish People's Party list in Toruń parliamentary district. In the 2002 local election he was a candidate to the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Regional Assembly II term. He polled 3,000 votes in 3rd district. He was second on the Polish People's Party list and was not elected. Zygmunt Kwiatkowski, who was won on the same list, was elected by the Assembly as Vice-Chairperson. Kuyavian-Pomeranian Regional Assembly
The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Sejmik ( pl, Sejmik Województwa Kujawsko-Pomorskiego) is the regional legislature of the Voivodeship of Kuyavia-Pomerania in Poland. It is a unicameral parliamentary body consisting of thirty councillors chosen during regional elections for a five-year term. The current chairperson of the assembly is Ryszard Bober. The assembly elects the executive board that acts as the collective executive for the regional government, headed by the voivodeship marshal. The current Executive Board of Silesia is a coalition government between the Civic Coalition, Polish People's Party and Democratic Left Alliance. In European elections, Kuyavian-Pomeranian () is a constituency of the European Parliament. It consists of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. Nomenclature The relevant Polish legislation ("The Act of 23 January 2004 on Elections to the European Parliament") establishing the constituencies does not give the constituencies formal names. Senate Of Poland
The Senate ( pl, Senat) is the upper house of the Parliament of Poland, Polish parliament, the lower house being the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Sejm. The history of the Polish Senate stretches back over 500 years; it was one of the first constituent bodies of a bicameral parliament in Europe and existed without hiatus until the final Partitions of Poland, partition of the Polish state in 1795. The contemporary Senate is composed of 100 senators elected by a universal ballot and is headed by Marshal of the Senate (''Marszałek Senatu''). The incumbent Marshal of the Senate is Tomasz Grodzki. 2019 Polish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 13 October 2019. All 460 members of the Sejm and 100 senators of the Senate were elected. The ruling Law and Justice (PiS) retained its majority in the Sejm, but lost its majority in the Senate to the opposition. With 43.6% of the popular vote, Law and Justice received the highest vote share by any party since Poland returned to democracy in 1989. The turnout was the highest for a parliamentary election since the first free elections after the fall of communism in 1989. For the first time after 1989, the ruling party controls one house, and the opposition the other.
