James Malcolm Rymer
James Malcolm Rymer (1814–1884) was a British nineteenth-century writer of penny dreadfuls, and is the co-author with Thomas Peckett Prest of both ''Varney the Vampire'' (1847) and ''The String of Pearls'' (1847), in which the notorious villain Sweeney Todd makes his literary debut. History Information about Rymer throughout his life is difficult to find, possibly due to his infamous shyness and desire to escape the public eye, as well as his usage of many pseudonyms such as Merry or Errym. He was of Scottish descent, though born in Clerkenwell, London on 1 February 1814 to a working-class family. He later in life became a civil engineer of which he was still noted to follow as his profession in 1841. He married Caroline Huttley in 1839 and they had their first child in 1840. Rymer began his literary career in 1842 when he began editing the ''Queen's Magazine,'' of which it is speculated he wrote the majority of the published articles. Józef Rymer
Józef Rymer (1882–1922) was a Polish and Silesian activist and politician. Rymer was born in Zabełków on February 2, 1882. Before the First World War he was an activist in the Zjednoczenie Zawodowe Polskie (Polish Union of Unions), a Polish labor union organization in Imperial Germany (see also German partition). He was also a member of the Naczelna Rada Ludowa (pro-endecja) Polish political organization in Germany. He was the target of assaults and even an assassination by nationalist German extremists (Freikorps); eventually he became one of the leaders of the Silesian Uprisings. Elected to Polish parliament (Sejm), he also became the first voivode of the Silesian Voivodeship (1920–1939), Silesian Voivodeship in June 1922. Pamela Ann Rymer (January 6, 1941 - September 21, 2011) was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Education and career Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Rymer earned an Artium Baccalaureus degree from Vassar College in 1961 and a Bachelor of Laws from Stanford Law School in 1964. She was Director of Political Research and Analysis for the Goldwater for President Committee in 1964. From 1965 to 1966, she was vice president of Rus Walton and Associates in Los Altos, California. Terence William Rymer (born 28 February 1967) is an English former professional motorcycle road racer turned car and truck racer. Thomas Rymer (c. 1643 – 14 December 1713) was an English poet, critic, antiquary and historian. His lasting contribution was to compile and publish 16 volumes of the first edition of ''Foedera'', a work in 20 volumes conveying agreements between The Crown of England and foreign powers since 1101. He held the office of English Historiographer Royal from 1692 to 1714. He is credited with coining the phrase "poetic justice" in ''The Tragedies of the Last Age Consider'd'' (1678). Rymer Omar Liriano (born June 20, 1991) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder who is currently a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres and Chicago White Sox. Career San Diego Padres Liriano signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent in 2008, and spent the first two seasons on the Padres' rookie-class teams. He then spent the 2010 season primarily with the Eugene Emeralds and the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
