Ryan Lindley
Ryan George Lindley (born June 22, 1989) is an American football coach and former quarterback who is currently the quarterbacks coach at San Diego State University. He played college football at San Diego State, and was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Lindley has also been a member of the San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, and Ottawa Redblacks. School career High school Lindley attended El Capitan High School in Lakeside, California. As a senior, he threw for 3,521 yards and 35 touchdowns. College After not playing in his first year on campus at San Diego State University in 2007 while Kevin O'Connell was the Aztecs' starter, Lindley started 11 games as a redshirt freshman in 2008. Navy Midshipmen Football
The Navy Midshipmen football team represents the United States Naval Academy in NCAA Division I FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) college football. The Naval Academy completed its final season as an FBS independent school (not in a conference) in 2014, and became a single-sport member of the American Athletic Conference beginning in the 2015 season. The team is currently coached by Brian Newberry, who was promoted in 2022, following his stint as the Midshipmen defensive coordinator. Navy has 19 players and three coaches in the College Football Hall of Fame and won the college football national championship in 1926 according to the Boand and Houlgate poll systems. 1998 Las Vegas Bowl
The 1998 Las Vegas Bowl was the seventh edition of the annual college football bowl game. It featured the San Diego State Aztecs, and the North Carolina Tar Heels. It remains the only bowl game in NCAA history where both of teams which participated in it started the season 0–3. Game summary San Diego State scored first after receiver Lonny Mitchell recovered a San Diego State fumble and advanced it 60 yards for a touchdown, putting the Aztecs up 7-0. North Carolina got back into the game with field goals of 32 and 23 yards from Josh McGee, to pull the Tar Heels to within 7-6. In North America, a bowl game is one of a number of post-season college football games that are primarily played by teams belonging to the NCAA's Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The 2010 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl was a post-season college football bowl game between the San Diego State Aztecs and the Navy Midshipmen on December 23, 2010 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. The sixth edition of the annual Poinsettia Bowl, which the Aztecs won 35–14, began at 5:00 PM PST and was broadcast on ESPN. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. Kevin William O'Connell (born May 25, 1985), nicknamed "KOC", is an American football coach and former player who is the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). O'Connell played quarterback at San Diego State University, and was selected by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. O'Connell later also played for the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and San Diego Chargers before retiring in 2012. Lakeside is a census designated place (CDP) in San Diego County, California. The population was 20,648 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census, up from 19,560 as of the 2000 United States Census, 2000 census.
