Ryan Klosterman
Ryan P. Klosterman (born May 28, 1982) is an American baseball coach and former shortstop. He is the head baseball coach at Bryant University. Klosterman played college baseball at Clemson University in 2001 and at Vanderbilt University from 2002 to 2004 for coach Tim Corbin and in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) for eight seasons from 2004 to 2011. Klosterman was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He attended South Lake High School (Florida), South Lake High School in Groveland, Florida. After graduation from high school, he decided to attend Clemson University to play baseball. After his freshman year, he transferred to play college baseball at Vanderbilt University. After his junior season he was selected in the 5th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. Lansing Lugnuts
The Lansing Lugnuts are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. They are located in Lansing, Michigan, and play their home games at Jackson Field (Lansing), Jackson Field. The Midwest League came to Lansing after owners Tom Dickson and Sherrie Myers moved the team to work with the city for a public-private lease to build a new stadium. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. One of the nation's premier collegiate summer leagues, the league boasts over one thousand former players who have gone on to play in the major leagues. Chatham A's
The Chatham Anglers, more commonly referred to as the Chatham A's and formerly the Chatham Athletics, are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Chatham, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. Chatham plays its home games at historic Veteran's Field, the team's home since 1923, in the town of Chatham on the Lower Cape. The A's have been operated by the non-profit Chatham Athletic Association since 1963. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues". Collegiate summer leagues allow college baseball players the ability to compete using professional rules and equipment, giving them experience and allowing professional scouts the opportunity to observe players under such conditions. Redshirt (college Sports)
Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). Steve Owens (baseball)
Stephen "Steve" Owens (born July 4, 1965) is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights baseball team. He has held that position since prior to the 2020 season. Owens played football and baseball at St. Lawrence and was drafted in the 25th round of the 1987 MLB Draft. He played two seasons in the Chicago Cubs organization, reaching Class A. He then turned to coaching, serving as an assistant baseball and football coach at Ithaca Bombers. The following season, he earned a head coaching position with the Cortland Red Dragons baseball team, where he remained for eight seasons. He then coached at Le Moyne before becoming head coach at Bryant. In 2013, he led the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament and was recognized as the ABCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year.
