Ryan Kelly (baseball)
William Ryan Kelly (born October 30, 1987) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves in 2015. Career Early career Kelly attended Hilton Head High School in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Kelly in the 26th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft. During the 2010–11 offseason, the Pirates traded Kelly to the Oakland Athletics for Corey Wimberly, and then the Athletics traded him to the Texas Rangers for Guillermo Moscoso. After the 2011 season, the Rangers traded Kelly to the San Diego Padres for Luis Martinez. For the next two seasons, Kelly pitched in relief with the Texas League Champion AA San Antonio Missions and AAA Tucson Padres. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Guillermo Alejandro Moscoso (born November 14, 1983) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Bravos de León of the Mexican League. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics, Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants. The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) is a professional independent baseball league based in the United States. It is an official MLB Partner League based in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. The Atlantic League's corporate headquarters is located at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The Atlantic League operates in cities not served by Major League Baseball (MLB) or Minor League Baseball (MiLB) teams; most of its teams are within suburbs and exurbs too close to other teams in the organized baseball system to have minor league franchises of their own. The Somerset Patriots are an American Minor League Baseball team based in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey, that is the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The league has 18 teams organized in two divisions, North and South. Teams play 114 games each season.
