Ryan Kellogg
Ryan Andrew Kellogg (born February 4, 1994) is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Wild Health Genomes of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Professional career Kellogg was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 12th round of the 2012 MLB Draft out of Henry Street High School in Whitby, Ontario but did not sign. He attended Arizona State University, and in 2013 he played collegiate summer baseball for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he was named a league all-star. Chicago Cubs Kellogg was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 5th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. Kellogg signed with Chicago and was assigned to the Low-A Eugene Emeralds, where he spent the whole season, posting an 0–1 record with a 4.98 ERA in 21.1 innings pitched. Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. They are located in Des Moines, Iowa, and are named for their Major League Baseball (MLB) affiliate. The Cubs play their home games at Principal Park, which opened in 1992. They previously played at Sec Taylor Stadium from 1969 to 1991. The club was established as the Iowa Oaks of the Triple-A American Association (1902–1997), American Association in 1969. The 2017 World Baseball Classic (WBC) was an international professional baseball competition, composed of 16 competing nations, held from March 6 to March 22, 2017. It was the fourth iteration of the World Baseball Classic. The first-round hosts were Seoul, Tokyo, Miami, and Zapopan. The second-round hosts were Tokyo and San Diego, and the championship round was played in Los Angeles. Twelve of the 16 competing nations qualified based on their performance during the first round of the 2013 tournament; the remaining four nations were the winners of four qualification tournaments that took place in February, March, and September 2016. Baseball At The 2011 Pan American Games
Baseball at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara was held between October 19 and 25, 2011. All games were played at the Pan American Baseball Stadium in Lagos de Moreno, Mexico. The draw for the competition took place in July 2011, in which the eight teams were drawn into two groups of four. Baseball was competed by men only, while women competed in the similar sport of softball. Each team could enter a team of 24 athletes for a maximum of 192 competitors for this tournament. The tournament was played using designated hitter rules. Cuba entered the tournament having won 10 consecutive baseball gold medals at the Pan American Games, dating back to 1971. The Tennessee Smokies are a Minor League Baseball team based in Kodak, Tennessee, a suburb of Knoxville. The team, which plays in the Southern League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. They play at Smokies Stadium, directly off Interstate 40 at Exit 407, which seats up to 8,000 fans. The team was based in Knoxville and called the Knoxville Smokies among other names for many years before moving to Kodak and changing its name prior to the 2000 season. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are a Minor League Baseball team in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and the Single-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. The Pelicans compete in the Carolina League. They are located in South Bend, Indiana, and play their home games at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium.
