Ryan Ginand (born April 1, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey player. Career College hockey Ginand attended Northeastern University from 2005 to 2009 where he played NCAA Division I college hockey with the Northeastern Huskies men's ice hockey team, scoring 46 goals and 36 assists in 132 games while earning NCAA All Star accolades. Professional In November 2009, following a contract with Herning Blue Fox of the Danish Elite League, Ginand signed with the Trenton Devils of the ECHL. On May 8, 2013, after playing in the New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild organizations, Ginand signed as a free agent in Italy for a one-year contract then with a British club, the Coventry Blaze of the EIHL, on a one-year contract. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Ice Hockey Journalists UK, abbreviated to IHJUK, is an organisation which was set up in 1984 to promote the interests of ice hockey and its writers, photographers and broadcasters. Originally called the British Ice Hockey Writers Association, abbreviated to BIHWA, it changed its name in 2006 in order to reflect the change in the sport and the growth of the media covering it. IHJUK were the custodians of the British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame until 2018. A sub-committee of members of IHJUK selected people who have made an "outstanding contribution" to the sport for induction to the Hall. The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Viaplay Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. The All-Hockey East Teams are composed of all players from teams that are members of Hockey East, an NCAA Division I hockey-only conference. Each year, from the 1984–85 season onward, at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season, the head coaches of each team vote for players to be placed on each all-conference team. The First, Second, and Rookie Teams have been named in each ECAC Hockey season, except for 1985–86, in which no Rookie Team was named. The all-conference teams are composed of one goaltender, two defensemen, and three forwards. If a tie occurs for the final selection of any position, both players are included as part of the greater all-conference team. The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split from what is today known as ECAC Hockey, after disagreements with the Ivy League members. The women's league, the WHEA, began play in 2002.
