Ryan Duthie
Ryan Duthie (born September 2, 1974) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey centre who played in North American minor leagues and in Europe. Career Duthie played Junior hockey for Spokane Chiefs of the WHL. He played for the Chiefs for 3 seasons, totaling 270 points in 198 games. During his final season with the Chiefs, Duthie was named to the Western Conference All-Star team. During his time with the Chiefs, Duthie was twice selected in the NHL Entry Draft; first in 1992 by the New York Islanders 105th overall, and again in 1994 by the Calgary Flames 91st overall. Upon being drafted by the Flames, Duthie turned professional and reported to the clubs affiliate team, the Saint John Flames of the AHL. The following season, Duthie again played in the AHL, this time for the Adirondack Red Wings. American Hockey League
The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 AHL season, 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams. Minnesota Moose
The Minnesota Moose were an American professional ice hockey team based out of Saint Paul, Minnesota that played in the International Hockey League from 1994 to 1996. History Following the departure of the National Hockey League's Minnesota North Stars in 1993, the state of Minnesota was left without a professional hockey team. To fill that void, the Minnesota Moose were founded the following year. The team began play in the IHL for the 1994–1995 season, using the Saint Paul Civic Center at its home arena, with some games in Minneapolis's Target Center. After two years in the Twin Cities, the team was sold to a group of Canadian businessmen including Mark Chipman, who relocated the team to Winnipeg, Manitoba, and renamed them the Manitoba Moose. The NHL Entry Draft (french: Repêchage d'entrée dans la LNH) is an annual meeting in which every franchise of the National Hockey League (NHL) systematically select the rights to available ice hockey players who meet draft eligibility requirements (North American players 18–20 years old and European/international players 18–21 years old; all others enter the league as unrestricted free agents). The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Spokane Chiefs
The Spokane Chiefs are a major junior ice hockey team that plays in the Western Hockey League based out of Spokane, Washington. The team plays its home games at the Spokane Arena. Their uniforms are similar to those of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens. Spokane consistently ranks in the top 10 in the Canadian Hockey League in attendance. Minor leagues are professional sports leagues which are not regarded as the premier leagues in those sports. Minor league teams tend to play in smaller, less elaborate venues, often competing in smaller cities/markets.
