Ryan Choo
Ryan Choo (born in September 1969 or 1970) is a Singaporean agriculture, businessman and former actor. He is best known for his role as Yan Dao in the comedy sitcom ''Right Frequency''. He is also greatly known for his contributions in agriculture with his father Brian. Early life and career Choo dropped out of his mechanical engineering course at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and subsequently enlisted into the army, citing having "no interest" in the course. He was a former sales supervisor before making his debut through the 1995 Mediacorp's Star Search competition where he was a semi-finalist. He has starred in television series such as period drama ''Tofu Street'' (1996), golf romance series ''Triumph Over The Green'' (1996), ''Brave New World'' (1996) opposite Alex Man and Fann Wong, blockbuster war drama ''The Price of Peace'' (1997) and in the mythical drama ''The Legends of Jigong'' (1997). ''The Hotel'' () is a Singapore Chinese drama which was telecast on Singapore's television station, Mediacorp, in 2001. It was released in December 2001 and was slated to be the blockbuster for the year 2001. The series has been rerun on MediaCorp Channel 8 and also on AZN Television. It stars Edmund Chen , Ivy Lee , Chen Hanwei , Jacelyn Tay , Chen Liping , May Phua & Yang Libing as the casts of this series. Hainan Kopi Tales (琼园咖啡香) is a Singaporean Chinese drama serial produced by Mediacorp which aired in year 2000 on Channel 8. The drama serial follow the lives of Hainanese in Singapore from the 1960s to the 1990s. Story Using Qiong Yuan, a Hainan coffeeshop as a backdrop, this nostalgic drama explores the Hainanese way of life from the 60s to the 80s. Lianhe Wanbao (; literally Joint Evening News) was a Singapore Chinese afternoon newspaper published daily by SPH Media Trust from 16 March 1983 after the merger between ''Nanyang Siang Pau'' and '' Sin Chew Jit Poh''. ''Lianhe Wanbao'' focused mainly on local and entertainment news with minimal international coverage. As such it was in competition with another SPH paper ''Shin Min Daily News''.
