Ruth Rappaport
Ruth Rappaport (May 27, 1923 – November 17, 2010) was a Jewish-American librarian.Digital.lib.washington.edu Her mother's cousin was Helena Rubinstein. Rappaport was born in Leipzig, in Saxony to Mendel and Chaja Rappaport. She had two older half-sisters, Mirjam Rappaport Schneider and Clara Rappaport Rosner. A ''chavurah'' or ''chaburah'' (חבורה Hebrew: "fellowship", plural ''chavurot'') is a small group of like-minded Jews who assemble for the purposes of facilitating Shabbat and holiday prayer services, sharing communal experiences such as lifecycle events, or Jewish learning. Congressional Cemetery
The Congressional Cemetery, officially Washington Parish Burial Ground, is a historic and active cemetery located at 1801 E Street, SE, in Washington, D.C., on the west bank of the Anacostia River. It is the only American "cemetery of national memory" founded before the Civil War.National Historic Landmark Nomination, p. 4 Over 65,000 individuals are buried or memorialized at the cemetery, including many who helped form the nation and the city of Washington in the early 19th century.
