Russia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Russian entry was selected through an internal selection, organised by Russian broadcaster Channel One Russia (C1R). Dina Garipova represented Russia with the song "What If", which qualified from the first semi-final of the competition and placed 5th in the final with 174 points. Dina Fagimovna Garipova (russian: Дина Фагимовна Гарипова, tt, Динә Фәһим кызы Гарипова, Dinä Fähim kyzy Garipova; born 25 March 1991) is a Russian singer. In 2012, Garipova won the Russian version of singing competition ''The Voice'', ''Golos''. Ukraine In The Eurovision Song Contest 2013
Ukraine participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Gravity" written by Karen Kavaleryan and Mikhail Nekrasov. The song was performed by Zlata Ognevich. The Ukrainian broadcaster National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU) organised a national final in order to select the Ukrainian entry for the 2013 contest in Malmö, Sweden. Nineteen entries competed in the national selection held on 23 December 2012 and "Gravity" performed by Zlata Ognevich was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from a five-member jury panel and a public televote. Russia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 in Dublin, Ireland. The Russian broadcaster Russian Public Television (ORT) internally selected Philipp Kirkorov with the song "Kolybelnaya dlya vulkana", written by Ilya Bershadskiy and Ilya Resnik, to represent the nation. Prior to Kirkorov's selection, the broadcaster was set to be responsible for the selection of a Russian representative, however, after its closure, new TV company ORT take over Channel One Ostankino and organised a public selection process entitled ''Evrovidenie "Pesnya-95"'' to select Russian entrant.
