Russell Cobb
Russell Alan Cobb (born 18 May 1961) is an English former cricketer who played more than one-hundred and fifty matches for Leicestershire and Northern Transvaal across a career than ran from 1980 until 1989. A right-handed batsman, he scored over 4,000 runs across the first-class and List A formats, though he never made a century. He also bowled left-arm medium pace and slow left-arm spin bowling, though only very occasionally. His son, Josh Cobb Joshua James Cobb (born 17 August 1990) is an English cricket player. He currently plays for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. He is a top order batsmen and occasional off spin, off-spinner. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Leicestershire County Cricket Club
Leicestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Leicestershire. It has also been representative of the county of Rutland. The club's limited overs team is called the Leicestershire Foxes. Founded in 1879, the club had minor county status until 1894 when it was promoted to first-class status pending its entry into the County Championship in 1895. Since then, Leicestershire have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Northerns (formerly North Eastern Transvaal and Northern Transvaal) has played first-class cricket in South Africa since December 1937. Its territory is the area north of Johannesburg, and it includes Pretoria. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Spin bowling is a bowling technique in cricket, in which the ball is delivered slowly but with the potential to deviate sharply after bouncing. The bowler is referred to as a spinner. Josh Cobb (cricketer)
Joshua James Cobb (born 17 August 1990) is an English cricket player. He currently plays for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. He is a top order batsmen and occasional off-spinner. He was man of the match in the 2011 and 2016 Twenty20 finals. Career Cobb scored a double century for the England Under 19s. He attended Oakham School as a child, where he was a key member of the first team, averaging over 50 with the bat in his final season.
