Russ Edmonds
Russell H. "Russ" Edmonds (born October 11, 1961) is an American Disney animator who has worked as a character animator, an animator, a supervising animator, a lead animator and a final line animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He worked on several Disney feature films, including ''Oliver & Company'', ''The Little Mermaid'', ''The Rescuers Down Under'', ''Beauty and the Beast'', '' Aladdin'', ''The Lion King'', ''The Hunchback of Notre Dame'', ''Tarzan'', '' Atlantis: The Lost Empire'', ''Home on the Range'', ''The Princess and the Frog'', and ''Winnie the Pooh''. He studied at the Program in Character Animation at the California Institute of the Arts. Along with his wife, Angela, Edmonds owns and directs the Edmonds Studios, an independent animation production studio in Red Bluff, California. Animator
An animator is an artist who creates multiple images, known as frames, which give an illusion of movement called animation when displayed in rapid sequence. Animators can work in a variety of fields including film, television, and video games. Animation is closely related to filmmaking and like filmmaking is extremely labor-intensive, which means that most significant works require the collaboration of several animators. The methods of creating the images or frames for an animation piece depend on the animators' artistic styles and their field. ''Amazing Stories'' is an American anthology television series created by Steven Spielberg, that originally ran on NBC in the United States from September 29, 1985 to April 10, 1987. The series was nominated for 12 Emmy Awards and won five. The first season episode "The Amazing Falsworth" earned writer Mick Garris an Edgar Award for Best Episode in a TV Series. Kala (Tarzan)
Kala is a fictional ape character in Edgar Rice Burroughs's original Tarzan novel, ''Tarzan of the Apes'', and in movies and other media based on it. She is the ape mother of Tarzan who raises him. History In the novel, Kala is a female in a band of ''Mangani'', a fictional species of great ape intermediate between real life chimpanzees and gorillas. She saves the infant Tarzan from the murderous fury of Kerchak, the mad leader of the ape band, after the latter kills Tarzan's human father. "Whacking Day" is the twentieth episode of the fourth season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons''.
