Harold Rushworth
Harold Montague Rushworth (18 August 1880 – 25 April 1950) was a New Zealand politician of the Country Party. Early life Rushworth was born in Croydon, England and was educated at Rugby School and Jesus College, Oxford, graduating with a degree in law. He became a civil engineer and surveyor and worked for the London County Council from 1905 until 1914. Joining the 7th Battalion City of London regiment at the outbreak of the First World War. In September 1915 he was seriously wounded during the Battle of Loos and lost his right knee. Later in the war he learned to fly and joined the Royal Flying Corps but was shot down over Paschendale in August 1917. He was held captive for three months before being repatriated due to his injury. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1923. John Rushworth
John Rushworth (c. 1612 – 12 May 1690) was an English lawyer, historian and politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1657 and 1685. He compiled a series of works covering the English Civil Wars throughout the 17th century called ''Historical Collections'' and also known as the ''Rushworth Papers''. Early life Rushworth was born at Acklington Park in Warkworth, Northumberland, the son of Lawrence Rushworth and his wife Margaret Cuthbert, daughter of the vicar of Carnaby in Yorkshire. His father was an extensive landowner and Justice of the Peace at Heath, Yorkshire although he was in prison for debt in 1629. Rushworth was a solicitor at Berwick on Tweed from 1638 and entered Lincoln's Inn in 1640. Valerie Rushworth is a British road bicycle racing, road and track cycling, track racing cyclist. Biography Rushworth's first sport was running, she was a member of the Wakefield Harriers. She started cycling with Monckton CC. She was British National Road Race Championships, national road race champion in 1964 and held several records on the track including motor-paced records set in 1964: quarter-mile flying start in 23.5 seconds, half-mile flying start in 46.0 seconds and the mile flying start in 1 minute 34.0 seconds. Rushworth, Victoria
Rushworth is a township in Victoria, Australia. It is located north of Melbourne and, at the 2016 Census, had a population of 1,335. History Rushworth was established during the Victorian gold rush in 1853. It was named by poet and later local Goldfields Commissioner Richard Henry Horne in 1854. Its post office opened on 16 September 1857. The goldfields became no longer viable due to the underground water table and were closed during the gold rush. The Rushworth Magistrates' Court closed on 1 January 1990. Athletics The town has an Australian rules football team competing in the Kyabram & District Football League. Golfers play at the course of the Rushworth Golf Club on Tatura Road.
